Laser Hair Removal
"Placing Emphasis on Quality of Life"

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses laser light, similar but not the same as IPL, to remove unwanted hair. Laser hair removal works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle (where hair growth originates), the intense heat destroys the hair follicle instantly.

In most cases, laser hair removal slows hair re-growth, but it takes several treatments to provide an extended "hair-free" period.
The most common areas requested are the face, upper lip, neck, chest, periareolar, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line, and legs. Laser hair removal can be performed on virtually any hair bearing part of your body including your arms, legs, bikini area, back, etc.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

According to hundreds of patients who have enjoyed the benefits of laser hair removal, the treatment is not as painful as waxing or electrolysis. Most patients report a tingling sensation during the treatment and tolerate the procedure very well. We use a "Cutera" laser, which has a cold plate to cool the skin prior to the laser beam's impact thus making the treatment virtually pain free.

Are there any side effects?

There are no significant side effects, however there may be some redness which subsides within 2-3 hours after the treatment.

Does the treatment work on all hair types?

As the laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, it is less likely to work on red, grey or white hair.

Is laser hair removal treatment safe?

As compared to other lasers, i.e. Ruby, Epilight, Alexandrite, etc, the LightSheer Pulsed diode and ND Yag lasers are the only systems approved by the FDA for safe and permanent hair reduction on all skin types. Not a single case of scaring, hyper or hypo pigmentation has been reported in a broad range of Clinical studies on both sides of the Atlantic.

What is the cost of the treatment?
